And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said to Elisha, ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, thou hast asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee, but if not, it shall not be so.
And it came to pass, as they still went on and talked, that behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire and parted them both asunder and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it and he cried, my father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the horse men thereof. And he saw him no more and he took hold of his own clothes and rent them in two pieces. After the departure of Elijah, Elisha had the first confrontation of his life which is crossing the river Jordan. Because he has seen what his master did to the river, the secret was revealed to him. As he was confronted with the same problem which confronted his master, he has to apply the key he has gotten from him to open the door and commanded the river which has no other choice than to obey and opened.
What is confronting you today? Is it mountain of sickness, poverty, marital, joblessness, loneliness, rivers of difficulties, none achievement, brethren, there is nothing that will happen on this earth that is new to our God, it might be new to us but remember that it is not new to God. Also, what God cannot do does not exist.
He has the key therefore go to Him in praise, worship, prayer and fasting and the key will be handed over to you without delay because He is too faithful to fail. He is ever ready to release the key to us because He loves and cherish us.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for bringing us to a new month and for bringing us far this year. Lord, I come to you today to teach me how I can follow You so that I will nomore wander around and have the key I need to open every door in my life so that the glory will be given unto You in the name of Jesus Christ.
