Forgive yourself

Resultado de imagen de bible verses about forgive yourself

We forgive others but we forget to forgive ourselves hoping it is not important. If you pray without forgiving yourself of any error or mistake you might have made, your prayer will not be answered. If you refuse to forgive yourself, no one will forgive you.

The very first person that needs forgiveness is you. You are the best person to forgive yourself because if you cannot forgive yourself, you are putting yourself in prison. Be brave enough to forgive yourself. Therefore, it is very important to free yourself from any form of imprisonment so that your prayer can reach the throne of God.

Unforgiveness

Unforgiveness is another area that can cause obstacle to our prayer. No matter the offence that has been committed against you, if you want your prayer to be answered, the first thing you have to do is to forgive anyone that has offended you.

And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors – Matthew 6 : 12.

If we cannot forgive anyone that is owing us, God cannot forgive us and when there is no forgiveness, prayer will become an abomination. When you forgive, your mind will be at rest, it will be free from stress, you will begin to live a happy life.

One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination – Proverbs 28 : 9.

We always try to justify our unforgiveness with reasons. No matter what your reasons might be, forgiveness is a must if you want to get answers to your prayer.

Unforgiveness can cause obstacles to the blessings of God for many years. Unforgiveness might be on things very minimum which you may not take into consideration. Unforgiveness is unforgiveness the only short cut to it is forgiveness.

Some people will say, I forgive but I will never forget. Brethren, that is not forgiveness because forgiveness has to be total without condition. No bypass. When you are living a Holy life, forgiveness will be part of you even when you are right, you will always like to make peace.

Then Jesus said, Father forgive them, for they do not know what they do – Luke 23 : 34.

Jesus did not commit any sin against anyone, but still He begged God the Father to forgive those that persecuted Him.

Unforgiveness will make you to carry irrelevant load which will become too heavy for you to carry. The road we are walking through is a road that cannot allow you to carry any excess luggage.

Make forgiveness be part of your daily life and you experience God’s favor in your life which will now attract His blessings to you.

PRAYER: Father and everlasting King, how mighty is Your grace to forgive us. Help us Lord to have a forgiving spirit that can forgive anyone that has offended us in anyway in the name of Jesus Christ.

Stop being an obstacle to your blessing 2

You shall not make for yourself a carved image, any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them nor serve them, for I the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those that hate Me – Exodus 20 : 4 – 5.

Most times, the above mentioned sin is not being taken notice of because we feel that since we are now in Christ behold, old things are passed away. Brethren, the sins of idolatry cannot be passed away like that without begging God for the forgiveness and renouncing that sin. What of evil covenant that they might have made? What about any curse that might have been placed on the family? What about evil yokes? What about curtism?

The bible says that God will visit the iniquity of the father up to the third or fourth generation. Even if you said that your father was not part of that worship but what about your ground father or great-ground father, so you are still involve. Until someone rise up and take the bull by the horn by taking responsibility to beg for such sin, it cannot be swept under the carpet. Instead, it will keep on being renewed until somebody from the family rise up.

We feel that the sins of our parents cannot get to us. If you think so, glory to God for your understanding but try and read the above bible verse so that you can now know how to take your stand in any sins that your parents or ancestors have committed.

God cannot lie and His word cannot lie. All He expect us to do is to accept our error and beg for His forgiveness of our sins and that of our ancestors and He will surely forgive us because of His love for us.

Prayer : Father, I appreciate You for placing Your truth in me. Forgive me the sins of my ancestors O Lord. Don’t let the sins they have committed distant me from You and Your promises in the name of Jesus Christ. Forgive me also of any sins that I have committed against You, against Your word and against any of your children and servant. Wash me with the precious blood of Jesus Christ in the name of Jesus Christ.

Stop being an obstacle to your blessing

Right from the beginning of creation, God want us to be blessed and multiply but sins has been one of the greatest obstacles that prevent the blessings of God from manifesting in the lives of the children of God.  It was sin that separated us from God and the garden of Eden.  Man was sent out from the garden of Eden but still sin could not be stopped because the heart of man is very strong.

God tried all He could but no way He could stop man from sinning because of His great love for mankind, He sent Jesus Christ to come and pay a great prize for us despite the fact that we were far from God which He did not like.

Today, are christians living in the level God desire for us from the beginning? The answer is absolutely NO. Why, because we feel that Jesus has paid the price so we are no more sinners.

The bible says that, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleans us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a lair and His word is not in us – 1 John 1 : 8 – 10. Forgiveness is in His hand  if we confess our sins to Him.

The question is, do you accept Him as your Lord and personal Savior? Do you accept that you are a sinner? Do you confess your sins to him even the sins of your ancestors? Do you ask Him to forgive you? Even after the prize Jesus Christ paid for you, do you still accept that you are a sinner? I feel that these questions are  very important for us to ask ourselves because we feel that we are no more sinners because of the sacrifice Jesus Christ paid for us.

If you have not confess your sins to Him or you don’t accept that you are a sinner, brethren, it is not too late for you to do that. First, accept Him as your Lord and personal savior no matter the level of sin that you might have committed, He is faithful and just to forgive you and write your name in the book of life. This is not the issue of I have been a christian for 20, 30, 40 or 50 years but rather the acceptance in your heart.

Prayer: Everlasting Father, I give You all the glory for Your love and grace upon our lives. Thank You for the breath of life You give to us everyday. Thank You for sending Your only Son, Jesus Christ to come and die for us despite our great sins. We accept You as our Lord and personal Savior. Forgive us in anyway we have sinned against You knowingly or unknowingly. Wash us clean with the blood of Jesus Christ so that we will be as white as snow. Forgive the sins of our ancestors. Give us the grace to know that You are the source of our lives in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
