Do wounds from the past control you? Is there a shield you placed over your heart, where you let no one come, including God? Do you say to yourself, “No one will ever hurt me again!” You have hardened your heart to protect it from further rejection and to rely on yourself not God.
Jesus says, “Trust me with all your wounds and your greatest shame. I want your whole heart, mess and all. Let down your protective shell and give it all to me. Let me have your whole heart, including the good, bad, and the ugly. Trust me to make you whole, as you are honest with me. There is no need to pretend with me.
