God’s Promises (Final Part)

Trust God's Promises | Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 2019.

There is nothing that can compare to the love God has bestowed on us. No matter what we have done, He is very faithful. You might have committed a great sin, being on any type of addiction, being in disobedience to His instructions, etc which now make you to be down and think that you amount to nothing. I want to encourage you today that, those were the reasons that Jesus Christ came so that we will be free. The bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20 that, Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins. Does that give us the right to sin? No, but if you have committed any sin, go to the Father on your kneels and plead for forgiveness and He is faithful to forgive. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness – 1 John 1:9.

Most times we allow fear to take its roots in our heart may be due to pressure of life, pressure of those around us, pressure of situation, pressure of uncertainty, pressure of joblessness, pressure of sickness etc. We should consider how great our God is instead. So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you  and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand – Isaiah 41:10. God has promised us that He will always be with us. If God is on our side, who can be against us – Romans 8:31? Absolutely nobody, no situation, no trials can be against us. Yes the bible says that surely they will try but their plans will never prosper. The says in Isaiah 54:15, If anyone attack you, it will not be my doing, whoever attacks you will surrender. Almighty God is too faithful to fail. The trial is just for a season. All we need to do is to keep trusting Him no matter the level of suffering because He that has promised is very faithful and He will show up at the right time. WE should try to live above sin because darkness and light doesn’t have anything in common and keep praying.

BELOW ARE SOME GOD’S PROMISES IN THE BIBLE:

Psalm 84 : 11 – For the Lord God is a sun and shield, the Lord bestows favour and honour, no good thing does He withhold from those whose way of life is blameless.

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Psalm 37:4 – Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Philippians 4:19 – And God will meet all your needs according to riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Proverbs 16:7 – When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, He causes their enemies to make peace with them.

Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:32 – He who did not spare his own son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also give along with Him, graciously give us all things? (NIV).

PRAYER: Father, we thank You for Your promises. Lord, without You, we can’t do anything. Our hope and trust is on You. Give us the grace to rely on You no matter the situation because we know that You will never abandon us in the name of Jesus Christ.

God’s Promises (part 1)

Put your hope in God's promises - Daily Devotions with Jon Dyer Jon Dyer 2019.

Behold I send an angel before thee, to keep thee in the way and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared – Exodus 23:20.

No matter what is happening today in the world, the promises of God is Yes and Amen. During this time of lock down, what are we using our time for? Are we using it to search for Him? or we are using it to look for fake news? Now the greatest news that is available anywhere in the world now is how many people are dead because of Covid-19. Ever since the lock down or even before the lock down do people still die because of other ailments or means? Coronavirus infection has taken over the whole world. I don’t want people to die but we cannot avoid it. Please, we should be realistic, I am not saying the Journalist are telling lies but what I am saying is that we should believe and stick to God’s promises. Is coronavirus bigger than God? Absolutely not, then why can’t we put our hope and trust on Him who can protect us against this deadly pandemic because He is able.

God is ever ready to fulfil His side of the promise. The question is, are we confident enough to fulfil our side? Most times when it comes to the things of God we procrastinate but when it comes to other things we are more serious. If we can remove procrastination in the things of God, we will see the reality of God because He has never lied and will never lie. The bible says in Numbers 23:19 that, God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?

What are the things that will not make God’s promises to manifest?

  1. Unbelief – And Jesus said unto him, if you can believe, all things are possible to him that believe – Mark 9:23. The bible did not say somethings are possible but rather all things are possible including God’s protection against coronavirus.
  2. Fear – Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand – Isaiah 41:10; For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind – 2 Timothy 1:7. According to above, God is not the giver of the spirit of fear. Fear not appeared 365 times in the bible meaning there will always be something that will make us to fear everyday whether we like it or not. As we have been alerted of this we should try not to allow it to take its root in our lives.

PRAYERS

  1. O Lord, I come to You with all my heart and with all my mind to plead for the forgiveness of my sins. Any known sins and unknown sins that have distant me away from You, please, blot it away with blood of Jesus Christ.
  2. My Father, my Father, I refuse to be a victim of this pandemic in the name of Jesus Christ.
  3. I will never die before my time in the name of Jesus Christ.
  4. In my going out and in my coming in, let You protection be upon me in the name of Jesus Christ.
  5. Thank You Lord for answered prayers in the name of Jesus Christ.

Stop running away from God

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I hope we are all doing great to the glory of God.

  1. Brethren, I don’t know what God is saying to you and I don’t know how you feel at this moment due to the present situation that is going on in the world. But I want to encourage you that this is not the time to run away from God or quit any Christian group. Of late, many people have left the forum.
The word of God will help us to know the different ways the devil uses to break marriages, the word of God will help us to know how we can build a strong home free of quarrel and misunderstanding, the word of God will help the singles to know their future spouses, the word of God will strengthen us to withstand every evil agenda of satan. God is merciful and He is a God of second and third chance. He is ever ready to forgive us anytime we ask for forgiveness. God want us to come back to Him.
When we switch on our television today anywhere in the world, what do you hear in the news other than how many people lost their lives today to coronavirus in each country, in each city etc. Are those words, words of encouragement that will give people confidence? Absolutely NOT AT ALL. That is what the news have to say. Is it bad to listen to news? No it is important but what I am saying is that we should not allow what they are saying in the news to cripple our mind for Christ because He is the only One that have solution to any problem. This is the time all of us need to come together and call upon God to have mercy on the world.

May God give us the grace to trust Him in the name of Jesus Christ.

Fear Not

For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind – 2 Timothy 1 : 7

The present situation in the world has brought fear to every nook and corner in the world. It doesn’t matter what is happening in the world today, the word of God cannot lie. According to the above opening chapter, God has not given us the spirit of fear, why then should you be afraid of whatever is happening. Can God lie? The bible says in Numbers 23 : 19 that, God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. Hath He said and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken and shall He not make it good? We don’t have to be afraid of anything but rather trust God. Most times, we allow what we see, what we hear and what we feel to reduce the size of God. No situation is greater than God. See how common virus has crippled the world in such a short time. The question I always ask people is that ”Can we fear God as the world is afraid of Coronavirus now”? How many countries has been on lock down? We leave who has the key to the solution and start looking somewhere else where the solution is not sure.

Brethren, the bible says in 2 Chronicle 7 : 14 that, If My people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land. Are we ready to humble ourselves and go on our kneels or we are going to continue to look for solution where there is no solution? If we can humble ourselves, no matter how great the error and mistakes might be, God is merciful and He is ever ready to forgive us.

Prayer: May God give us the grace we need to know the truth because the bible says that we shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free in the name of Jesus Christ.
