Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works. Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the Day approaching – Hebrews 10 : 23 – 25.
Our persistence in the house of God do not have a limited time on earth so long as we leave here. Many people always say that they have been going to church for more than fifty years (50 years) and where are they now, no more going to church because they feel that they have known all they are suppose to know about God. People decide not to go to church anymore because their faith has started to wave.
I think the bible did not say or stipulate a fixed time which we have to stop going to church. When a person is advance in age, he might not have the strength or capability which is very clear. Some people will say that they are attending their church in their homes. The bible is very clear about this and when anyone stop going to the assembly of the brethren in the name of Jesus Christ, such a person is no more persistent. The person will no more be exhorted neither will he exhort anybody as the bible instructed us.
There is a woman in our church who is about 90 years old (Ninety years) and at times she is even more frequent in church more than some young people. Her presence encourage people because the word of God cannot lie.
Persistent includes our service in the house of God without counting how many years you have been in the service of God. We should stop placing obstacle to our own blessing. We should keep on trusting Him.
PRAYER : Father, I thank You for the grace to know You. Thank You for making it possible for me to know my brethren in faith. Give me the patient to remain in Your House and in the assembly of my brethren no matter what anyone will do to me in the name of Jesus Christ.
